Ya gotta love J I Packer. He is such a great writer. I was told by a man about my age when I was in the Air Force that had attended several of Prof Packer's classes (in early 90's or late 80's) that he was the most boring professor at the college, yet the most renowned. His books "Knowing God" and "Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God" are great studies of God's nature. His website: http://www.jipackeronline.com/.
